Dear Mr. Norbye:
I am sorry you didn't make the session at the AAAS meeting.
I am sure your paper would have been illuminating, and I apologize for
not realizing that you might be unfamiliar with the customs of such
meetings and the confusion of the meeting staff; if they had looked
you up in the program of the meeting, they would have given you
correct information, since you were in the index.
There seems to be no great urge to publish the proceedings, but
I would personally be grateful for a copy of the paper I understand you
have written if you can spare it. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to
write out my talk, I can't offer to reciprocate. I have copies of talks
by Irving and Coates from that session and by Starkman and Stork from the
regulatory session if you want them.
Sorry again for the confusion.
Sincerely yours,
John McCarthy
P.S. Good luck in your new job.
